Main Street from Church Street in March 1940 Same view today
This view is from the old 1912 Fire Station looking toward Main Sreet. the white building to the right is the old police station and was until 1950 when the new fire station was built. The old fire station then became the new police
station. On the corner of Church and Main was a gas station back in the '50's...a Shell Oil Station owned by the Thompson Oil Co. out of Houlton. The covered structure was a taxi stand in the '40's,
This view is taken from the same building that has recently has been turned over to the Presque Isle Historical Society.
