| Historical display in airport lobby |
Airport passengers at the Northern Maine Regional Airport will have the opportunity to view some Presque Isle history as they wait to board a flight.
A full two sides of the center kiosk at the airport lobby contains some interesting historical artifacts from the Presque Isle Historical Society.
One side contains some Main Street photos, some artifacts, some Estey House information, and some information about the Aroostook Valley Railroad. A photo of Molley The Trolley is on the same shelf with a photo of the Aroostook Valley Railroad trolley.
The other side contains photos and information on the Maysville Grange, The Double Eagle II Balloon Flight in 1978, a felted beaver fur top hat, and information on the Northern Maine Sanitorium.
Also, there are before and after photos in the vending area as part of our display.
With these Presque Isle Historical Society displays, the photographs from Richard Graves, and the Air Museum, passengers and friends will have lots to look at look at and enjoy.
